The Company

Glückauf Sondershausen Entwicklungs- und Sicherungsgesellschaft mbH (GSES) has its origins in the potassium and salt industry of Central Germany, specifically in the Sondershausen salt mining region, which has a tradition going back over 100 years.

The political and economic changes in Eastern Germany, which began at the end of the 1980s, and the general situation in the salt market at that time led to the collapse of salt mining in Thuringia.
Starting from this difficult situation, the company has grown to become the economic locomotive and one of the largest employers in the region.

Since being privatized in 1995, GSES GmbH has developed into a successful, modern service provider and producer in various mining-related
business areas , and it has continually invested in developing and expanding its business.
